Nicole Treloar
Psychologist - Director
Sees adults only at the Warragul clinic and telehealth
Nicole believes that to live life fully, we take risks, make mistakes and we get stressed. It’s how we evolve. She is privileged to be involved in those major life events, good, bad or ugly and see you pick up and grow with new experiences. It’s her job to help people achieve their dearest dreams and explore their darkest demons. She’s seen people at their absolute lowest and at their very best. She’s stood beside them as they’ve crumbled under pressure and wept as if their hearts were breaking. She’s celebrated when people have been courageous, successful, triumphant and proud. Most people never realise the strength they have in them until they are tested and pushed to their limits. That’s were miracles happen and we start to believe in ourselves and realise we’re much stronger than we thought.
Let’s get our minds right and the rest will go smoothly. We all have the power to do that.
Nicole earned her BBsc at LaTrobe University, Post Graduate Diploma in Psychology from Bond University and Graduate Certificate in Career Development from Swinburne University. She grew up in country NSW, basked in the sunshine in Qld for 10 years before relocating to Melbourne. Gippsland is now where she calls home with her partner, dog (poor fellow he has an anxiety disorder himself), three boys and 5 sheep and 3 chooks.
She has worked for over 15 years in vocational psychology, employee assistance, training and clinical management roles. Now she does work regularly in organisational settings, including remote mining and detention wellness programs and post event trauma. Wellness in the workplace is a particular interest as well as limiting the flow on effects in personal lives. Nicole consults with large organisations and on an individual level about managing mental health, risk and wellness. Nicole has worked in the weird and wacky places, off the beaten track like offshore detention centres in Nauru and Christmas Island and remote mining in towns that are so small they are barely on a map - all with the hope of maintaining wellbeing whilst those working in those locations are faced with harrowing work and being away from home.
Psychological therapy is particularly suited to clients who are looking not only to feel better, but to know themselves in a deeper way. They may be curious about the underlying causes of their difficulties and may also wish to understand how issues from the past may be repeated in the present. Psychology allows for the development of a safe and enriching space where all aspects of the client’s sense of self can be acknowledged, understood and explored.
